Jetstar teams with JAL
Jetstar Japan, a joint-investment with the Qantas Group, Mitsubishi Corp. and
Century Tokyo Leasing Corp., has announced that it will start a codeshare and
mileage program partnership with Japan Airlines as well as Qantas.
Jetstar Japan and JAL have entered a codeshare agreement enabling JAL
customers flying internationally to Tokyo (Narita), Osaka (Kansai) and Nagoya
(Chubu) to book onward travel on the airline. Customers will be able to
create a single itinerary with international and domestic flights with the JL
code, operated respectively by JAL and Jetstar Japan. Also, with this latest
development, JAL Mileage Bank (JMB) members can soon utilize their accrued
mileage to redeem tickets on Jetstar Japan flights.
Reservations, sales and JAL mileage redemption of flights operated by Jetstar
Japan began Feb. 27 for departures from Wednesday.
The airline is also planning to codeshare with Qantas, and customers can
transit on Jetstar’s domestic flights through Narita from March.
Jetstar Japan services will be added to Qantas Frequent Flyer programs, too.
