I think this is a very good translation.
"Con-" meamsn together, and "Cordia" means hearts.
Literally it refers to hearts joined together.
So this word means "Agreement or Peace" or "Harmony".
It is also the name of a Ancient Roman Goddess of Harmony.
That said, I really like the translation of 協和大學.
