Each year Lyric Opera of Chicago presents a star-studded free outdoor concert
as its annual pre-season gift to the city. This free concert features a
spectacular selection of overtures, arias, and ensembles. Enjoy this outdoor
performance with the breathtaking backdrop of the Frank Gehry-designed Jay
Pritzker Pavilion and the Chicago skyline at dusk and twilight.
Enjoy a grand night of singing with some of opera's most famous stars — many
of them featured in Lyric Opera's amazing 2009-10 season. Deborah Voigt,
James Morris, and more in a glorious concert dedicated to the men and women
of the United States Armed Services. Sir Andrew Davis conducts the Lyric
Opera Orchestra!
Other performers include René Barbera, Vladimir Glouzine, Joseph Kaiser,
Kyle Ketelsen, Katherine Lerner, Amanda Majeski, Ana María Martínez, Lucas
Meachem, and Amber Wagner.
Music by Rossini, Donizetti, Verdi, Puccini, Dvoøák, Offenbach, Wagner,
Bizet, and Gounod.
The Bucksbaum Family Lyric Opera Broadcasts airs this concert live on
98.7WFMT and WFMT.com starting at 7:00 p.m.
