How about my case:
Status: H1B approved (COS from F1), no H1 visa stamp.
PERM: Pending, audit replied in Dec. 07.
Marriage plan: Wedding at U.S. court in Mar.-May 08,
ceremony outside U.S. in Jul.-Sep. 08.
I'm not sure if I can get H1 visa in time in Jul.-Sep. to return for work.
So I plan to file I-140/I-485(+I-131,I-765) once PERM is approved to get AP.
My fiancee has to stay outside U.S. for a few months to finish her education.
Is filing I-824(no I-485) for her the best option?
