Garuda to open three int’l routes next year

PT Garuda Indonesia says it will open three new international
routes in 2012: Jakarta-Tokyo through Haneda airport, Jakarta-Taipei and
Jakarta-New Delhi.
Garuda president director Emirsyah Satar said that the national flag carrier
currently offered service to Tokyo through Narita airport, creating an
opportunity to expand service through Haneda.
“Haneda is located inside Tokyo, so it will be more efficient and
time-saving to take this route if we have business here in Tokyo,” he said
recently as quoted by tribunnews.com.
Emirsyah said that the Haneda route would be served five times a week with
Airbus A330-200 aircraft.
The route to Taipei would start operations on May 19 and to New Delhi on the
third quarter in 2012. (drs)
